World Water Week in Stockholm

By Naty Barak- Netafim Chief Sustainability Officer I have just returned from the World Water Week in Stockholm. Following last year’s excitement when Netafim was awarded the Stockholm Industry Water Award and I personally met the King and Queen of Sweden, I expected this year’s meeting to be an anti-climax and disappointing. Well, in a way it was – the royal couple did not greet me this time. However, as far as Netafim and drip irrigation is concerned, this year’s … Full article click here >>

Cheers to The PC

By: Naty Barak- Netafim Chief Sustainability Officer As a much younger man, I had the pleasure of representing Netafim in the United States in the  early 1980’s. One of our flagship products at the time was the Pressure Compensated dripper which helped to establish Netafim in the American market. Our first sales were in 1981 to the vineyards in California. This was the first Pressure Compensated dripper invented and developed by Rafi Mehudar. Introduced into the market in 1978 it … Full article click here >>

Grey, Black, Desalinated, Brackish, Canal, River, Well – It’s all water to me!!

By Sebastian Schifris – Corporate Water Quality Manager Israel purifies and reuses almost 75% of its waste water each year for agriculture and vastly outranks even the second most efficient recycled water user – Spain – which only recycles 12% of its waste water for agriculture. As such, we at Netafim have accepted the role of ‘responsible adult’ in an effort to share our expertise with a world thirsty for knowledge and guidance. In my position as Chemical Engineer with … Full article click here >>

Food for Thought and Thoughts for Food!!

Here’s a thought! Today, as throughout modern history, irrigation is crucial to the global food supply: the 18% of the world’s farmland that’s irrigated yields 40% of the world’s food. Yet less than 5% of the world’s irrigated land is equipped with drip irrigation systems. Added to that, we have the increasingly complex issues of water scarcity, climate change, drought and hunger. All in all, we have a major task on our hands. That’s why we are dedicating 2014 to … Full article click here >>

Looking back at 2013

2013 has been a very special year for Netafim. We have advanced in our effort to increase awareness to drip irrigation among stakeholders, decision and policy makers and NGOs.
